Prototyping Workshop
Prototyping is an integral part of Design Thinking because it allows us to test our ideas quickly and improve on them in a timely fashion. When we prototype, we build to think and to test our assumptions. By going through quick cycles of prototyping and testing, we ensure that our solution works. Everything can be prototyped, whether your solution is digital, a service, or a physical product.
This workshop will give users a deep understanding of the process of product prototyping, while also touching upon prototyping for digital products and services. It provides participants with a set of tools and approaches for properly testing and exploring ideas cheaply and quickly.
The first session of this training covers a basic understanding of prototyping and testing. The second session focuses on a more advanced understanding of prototyping and the manufacturing techniques to consider.
Curious about the business value of design and prototyping? Read this 2018 report by McKinsey, where they say that the most successful companies consciously foster a culture of sharing early prototypes (p.27).

Good to Great Lecture
Dieter Rams is one of the most influential industrial designers of the last 50 years. He is closely associated with the consumer products company Braun and the Functionalist school of Industrial design. Rams held a firm belief that good design can only come from understanding people. So in the 1980’s, he set out to create an overview of what defines good design.
Whether you are designing a logo, a product, a service or an app, these principles are just as relevant today as they were back then. Jonathan Ive, former lead designer at Apple, often speaks about how he draws inspiration from these fundamentals of good design.
Our good to great lecture covers the theory behind these principles, and goes in depth into the meaning of all ten of them with practical examples. This framework will help you improve and simplify any product or service that you are designing.
If you have a great idea, it’s important to know how to showcase and share it. Therefore – to help you get ahead – we end the session with some hands-on tips for communicating and presenting your solution.
