In the evolving world of sanitary ware, 2022 marked a new chapter as we teamed up with the RAK Ceramics Group to redefine elegance and functionality in bathroom essentials. The Remal collection is a collaboration aimed to set new benchmarks in the industry, merging storytelling with aesthetics and ergonomics with cutting-edge materials.

The collection is the result of a design collaboration with RAK Ceramics group unveiled at ISH 2023 in Frankfurt.. Together, we have crafted a stunning array of high-end sinks and toilets that blend form and function, drawing our inspiration from the dynamic shapes of sand dunes shaped by the wind. Beyond the design itself, we’ve curated the entire storytelling, nomenclature, and mood surrounding the collection, ensuring that it embodies a narrative and evokes a unique ambiance for those who experience it.
The RAK-Remal collection was born from a moment of tranquility, imagining the feeling of standing amidst beautiful sand dunes. The calmness of the space and the soft shapes of the golden sand that surround us. The open sky and the wind that touches our face. How sand is shaped by the hooves of a horse walking down or pushed away with a stroke of a hand. How these soft organic forms are created simply by moving sand particles. The feeling they emit and the inspiration they bring are what inspired the design language in this collection. In which every detail is designed to bring us closer to nature. To revive and refresh from the hustle of life. It highlights the traditions of the MENA community. In particular, the concept of cleanliness as it is conceived in Arab heritage, the bathroom as “Bayt Al Raha”, “the people’s home.”
The RAK-Remal collection offers two distinct finishes for its bathroom sinks, both drawing inspiration from the textures found in weathered rocks: a glossy white finish and Mica white, a novel artistic glaze achieving an earthy and natural appearance by
incorporating Mica particles (a mineral family that includes muscovite). Moreover, the fixtures within the collection provide enhanced comfort, featuring Reelflush, an innovative dual-flush technology that operates with remarkable silence and delivers substantial water conservation benefits.
Process
During the design process, we engaged in numerous prototyping phases, each tailored to accommodate the evolving alterations in our designs. Motivated by the pursuit of perfection, our journey aimed to mirror the captivating beauty of sand dunes’ majestic peaks, and these iterations played a pivotal role in refining our designs to achieve the desired outcome.
We prioritize a development process, ensuring technical and commercial feasibility while simultaneously emphasizing usability and convenience, to deliver solutions that integrate innovation with practicality.
