At Amman Design Week 2019, *A Shaded View on Fashion* covered the Material Innovation exhibition in Jabal Amman, where Sahar Madanat of Twelve Degrees shared insights into their approach to local materials. Faced with the challenge of relying on imported supplies, Madanat and her team sought alternatives found in Jordan, such as clay, Dead Sea mud, goat hair, and olive mill waste. Their exploration led to the creation of a bench from olive mill waste, aiming to develop materials that could eventually substitute for traditional wood and reduce reliance on imported resources.
