In 2019, Amman-based design studio Twelve Degrees won the Audi Innovation Award for the Middle East at Dubai Design Week for their innovative product, the Pincher. Themed around “Simplification,” the award recognized Twelve Degrees’ elegantly designed salt dispenser, which allows users to control the flow of seasoning with a pinch, mimicking the natural motion of adding a “pinch” of salt. This clever silicon container provides a more intuitive user experience compared to traditional shakers.

Twelve Degrees received $25,000 worth of consulting services and a trip to Audi HQ in Ingolstadt. This marked their second win, following their 2016 Audi Innovation Award victory for the One Handed Tableware Set, now evolved into the HandyPlate product line, designed to assist one-handed users in cutting food.
